Subcontractor & Accounting Specialist

Our company is looking for a subcontractor payment and compliance clerk to review and process subcontractor invoices, to assist with subcontractor compliance, and to work with subcontractors to ensure successful completion of our projects.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a highly self-motivated individual with strong communication and collaboration skills who is able to work under minimal supervision. This candidate must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. This role require daily interaction with subcontractors and with internal staff, so strong interpersonal skills and adaptability are required.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Work with subcontractors in getting them properly compliant, complete timely invoices, lien waivers and closeout documents.
  • Build positive subcontractor relationships by serving as a resource for our subs, fielding questions, and going the extra mile to assist them.
  • Work with project manager throughout the project
  • Review and enter subcontractor paper invoices
  • Verify information on sworn statements
  • Assist with electronic invoicing program, tasks include reviewing pay applications, sworn statements, lien waivers, and importing documents into Viewpoint.
  • Understand a variety of owner billings and be able to properly pay subcontractors after we receive payment.
Requirements:
  • Must have a basic understanding of accounting
  • Must have a high level of personal and professional integrity
  • Exceptional communication skills and detail oriented
  • Must be flexible and proactive, with a “can do attitude”
  • Displays excellent time management and problem solving skills
  • Well-developed analytical skills and forward thinker
  • Background and knowledge of construction is preferred but not required
