Job Description:

Our accounting team is looking for a Payroll and Sales & Use tax Associate who is responsible for all aspects of the company’s weekly payroll in accordance with our policies and procedures. In addition, this position is responsible for preparing Multi- State Sales and Use tax returns, and providing support to the accounting team.

Responsibilities:

  • Processing of payroll including balancing and reconciling time sheets
  • Track and deduct all garnishments and other payroll deductions
  • Make payroll tax deposits (FICA, State, local) and reconcile to ensure accuracy
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to ensure proper flow and maintenance of employee data
  • Help with filing Union reports
  • Prepare multi-state sales and use tax returns, and system entries
  • Stay up to date with payroll and sales and use tax related changes and updates
  • Respond to sales and use tax notices, and assist with audits.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous payroll experience
  • Knowledge of sales and use tax is a plus
  • Excellent skills and ability in building peer relationships
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy in a multi-task environment
